Rangatahi support service
The Rangatahi Support Service is grounded in the belief that every child has a dream—and with the right guidance and support, those dreams can be awakened and achieved. This kaupapa Māori, youth-focused service aims to support rangatahi who are navigating challenges—whether big or small.
Our focus is on both intervention and prevention, especially for rangatahi who have offended or are at risk of re-offending. We provide advocacy and tautoko through spaces such as Te Kooti Rangatahi and the wider court system, while also addressing issues like absenteeism, truancy, behavioural challenges at home, school, or in the community.
Working alongside whānau and guided by goal plans created with each young person, we aim to align aspirations with actions to promote positive outcomes. The service also supports whānau to be heard and empowered in the spaces that affect their rangatahi’s wellbeing and future.
Ultimately, this service exists to break down barriers that limit our rangatahi, empowering them to recognise their own potential and step confidently into their identity and future.
